PIPELINE NETWORKS
General
The M2C-PIPELINE is an open architecture - a robust, reliable and flexible Java-2
environment monitoring software solution, which incorporates wide variety of data sources
and provides visual, interactive and intuitive user interface, flexible reporting
capabilities and rich set of modeling, monitoring and analysis tools.
The M2C-PIPELINE can serve as a workbench for the expert user ( incorporating specific
data feeds and the specialized knowledge of the problem), and is equally
"user-friendly" for the inexperienced operator. It allows use of legacy code and
models written in other programming languages with great ease, and can run on average
desktops or laptop PCs.
M2C-PIPELINE Competitive Advantage
Real-time monitoring and modeling of the pipeline network status from a desktop PC. No
expensive and hard to maintain equipment required.
Reliable, tested and proven software solution. High quality, without maintenance,
migration and installation hassles.
Rich, intuitive and easy-to-use GUI. No intensive training required.
Easy data access and thorough [extensive] use of state representation to describe system
conditions, without overwhelming amounts of on-screen data.
Rich modeling and analysis capabilities through the use of proprietary AZ Global
software. Models written in different [programming] languages may run within the system
almost with limited, if any, change to the models code.
Effective training and investigation solution. Any real world situation may be easy
brought to the operator screen.
Automated notification and customized reporting.

Modeling Capabilities
Each component of the system incorporates the model that represents its functionality, and
maps input parameters to the outgoing data, as well as may include the device
driver for the sensors that are monitored in a real-time regime.
The M2C - PIPELINE system is capable of switching between monitoring the real raw data
stream and using software models or data generators on the go, without restarting the
entire system. If multiple models are available for specific components of the system
(e.g. models of oil or water flow in a pipeline) the user is also able to switch between
the models by simply providing the name of the model that will be used by the system. New
models may be imported and existing models may be modified without restarting the system;
playback and control point capabilities are continuously supported. This unique set of
features positions M2C-PIPELINE as the best choice for realistic modeling, effective
training and as an efficient accident investigation tool.
Monitoring Operation
M2C - PIPELINE is server-end application that may be deployed on average performance
computers. It executes asynchronous data collection from remote sensors, and uses discrete
state representation for visualization of the conditions of the entire system and of the
system components (pipelines, pump stations, etc.).
The Graphic User Interface (GUI) of the system normally includes three screens - (1.)
incoming data display, (2.)system status graphic display, and (3.) component state
conditions (left to right on the picture). Alphanumeric data for the system and for each
of the system components are available in the real-time regime and may be brought up by
the operator by pressing the corresponding control.
The operator is also capable to zoom-in from the system level to component level, and
supports the nesting of components. Visualization of the components supports both static
imagery and streaming video delivered from remote locations.
The M2C - PIPELINE system also supports unmanned operation and e-mail messaging
notification of the operator at remote location when the system or component approaches a
pre-defined state. Customized reporting is also supported. |
